We are very blessed to be able to provide some of the best Dulse in the world! It's no wonder this is our most popular sea vegetable. Whole Leaf Dulse is soft and chewy, with a distinctive taste and a rich red color.
Our Dulse is hand-harvested from remote Gulf of Maine bays at the peak of nutrition and taste (early summer to early fall.) All of our Dulse products undergo annual OCIA organic inspection for handling and harvesting, as well as voluntary testing for heavy metal, chemical and microbiological contaminants.
Like all sea vegetables, Dulse is an excellent source of Iodine. It also contains a significant amount of protein compared to land vegetables. It's rich in iron (10% DV/serving) and a good source of some of the B-vitamins.
Besides the whole leaf form, Dulse is also available as flakes, granules and powder. All of our milled Dulse products have the same nutrition as whole Dulse, at much less cost per ounce. The Dulse for our milled products grows in well-protected shallow passages and is much easier to harvest than our whole Dulse. For this reason, it gives higher yields and is less expensive, which means the savings get passed to you.
